Every individual in the work force brings in their unique contribution to the company. It is also true that an individual cannot work alone in an organisation. The person needs to team up with other people for a positive impact to the company. This grouping up and working together is called team building.
Building a team is not an easy task. People have their point of view in each matter. You may not agree to what I say or my methods of working, lest alone work together in a team. While differences remain, the essential thing is to pull together each other’s skills and build a comfortable working environment. The common goal is to serve the company and reach new heights. While doing so, you prove your worth to the company and give a push to your career too.
There are many ways to build a team. Some of them being conferences, training, and development programmes on how to lead and sustain a team, role-playing, and delegation of decision-making powers. TEAM BUILDING should involve equality and not any biases. People are judged according to their skills, capabilities, and contribution to the company. While it seems perfect to retain the decision making power with the team leader or the higher management, but a little delegation of power imbues an individual with motivation. After all, people are not machines or robots. However, the delegated power should be to a trusted person who will not be tempted to misuse it.
